Communication servers

Chord

Chord communication servers are the centre for secure co-operation. In a single appliance, they combine a server for web conferencing with a local email server.

The participants to a web conference are identified using cryptographic certificates, in order to ensure that only the ones who are invited actually have access — and that they are, who they claim to be.

As a complete email server (SMTP and IMAP), Chord prevents messages from being stored on third-party servers and thus from being read or manipulated by others.

The compact rack-mountable device unites everything needed and does not require anything special on the user's side. Participation to web conferences takes place by means of the normal browser, so no app needs to be installed. For email, every standard mail app can be used.
